Reflexology

Reflexology

Reflexology is used by applying pressure to specific parts of the feet to stimulate other parts of the body. It’s been said that the left foot corresponds to the left side of the body and the right foot to the right side of the body. The general breakdown or mapping of the locations are:

  • Tips of Toes = Brain, Eyes, Sinuses
  • Ball of Foot = Head, Chest, Neck, Shoulders
  • Arch of Foot = Internal Organs, Spine
  • Heel = Low Back, Pelvis

A reflexologist carefully uses their hands to feel for inconsistencies in both feet, and once found, slowly uses pressure to rub them out. This process will stimulate the nerves to relieve tension, improve circulation, reduce pain and stress, aid in digestion, and relieve stress headaches. This process is more detailed than that of a massage.

If your local Spa and Salon doesn’t offer reflexology, check out the massage products on Spasalon.us to give you a close comparison for an alternate method.
