Nail Art

Nail Art

Nail art has been around for years. Overtime, designs and ideas have become more elaborate and more commonly used. Originally, it was a way to distinguish between cultures and classes. Now, it’s simply a form of accenting the manicure and pedicure.

Anything you can imagine has been used for the decorations. Here are some of the most popular choices:

  • Glitter
  • Crystals and rhinestones
  • Stickers and decals
  • Wraps
  • Marbling
  • Stripes
  • Charms and Jewelry
  • Geometric shapes
  • Airbrush
  • Stencils

Each of these give a different look to whatever design is trying to be achieved. To get the chosen materials to stick, its best to use nail glue or clear top coat polish because using other forms of adhesives could damage your nails. Nail art is used mostly during special occasions, holidays, parties, weddings, on vacations, or to accessorize a particular outfit. As you can probably imagine, hearts, flowers, dots, and stripes are the standard hand drawn design.

Nail paint is used to achieve the hand painted decoration. Its advised to be quick with the strokes because it dries quicker than nail polish. To get the art to stick, apply 2 coats of the base color being used. Once finished, apply a thick layer of clear, top coat to help seal things in place. This top coat should be applied weekly to keep the design looking fresh for a longer period of time.

There are unlimited designs and techniques used when doing nail art. Just make sure you are using the proper supplies to keep everything looking professionally done and to help it last as long as possible. Some of these supplies can be found on spasalon.us
