Paraffin Wax Mani & Pedi

Paraffin Wax Mani & Pedi

Paraffin wax is another available feature during your visit to your local Spa and Salon. It’s another way to moisturize and soften the skin. This wax is tasteless and odorless, and is not to be confused with regular spa wax which is used to remove hair.

Before receiving the wax treatment, perform the basic manicure and pedicure steps first…clean and cut the nails, shape and buff, and exfoliate the skin with scrubs. Hands, feet, or elbows can now be dipped in the container holding the melted wax. Do this process 2-3 times to ensure there’s a good coating on the skin. For extra relaxation, aromatherapy oils and fragrances can be added to the wax. Be sure to only use appropriate warmers and not microwaves or stove tops due to needing to get the perfect melting temperature of 115°F. Wrap coated skin in plastic for 30 minutes to allow wax to harden.

Once substance has hardened, remove by peeling away from the skin. Don’t worry, this part is also painless. You may notice and increase in the blood circulation or pain relief after the wax has been removed because paraffin wax is a form of heat therapy, although it is not recommended for those who have diabetes, hypertension, or varicose veins. There hasn’t been any known major side effects by receiving this was treatment on the hands, feet, or elbows.
